Be There. A simple statement conveying a powerful message. A message that John Engelbrecht shares regularly with our students through a story about Dr. James Dobson and NBA All-star Pete Maravich. Pete Maravich died unexpectedly during a friendly game of one on one with Dr. Dobson. Thinking ahead to the day when he will be called to leave this earthly life, Dr. Dobson breaks the sad news to his son, expressing how much he wants his son to “Be there” on resurrection morning. Posted at the entrance to our parking lot, the sign is a daily reminder of the saving message of the Gospel to all who visit and attend Calvary. The sign will be posted this year, then next year it will be replaced with a sign chosen by the highest bidder of the “Name the Drive” auction at the Spring Fling in April.
