Exchange Students

Posted on September 26, 2006 @ 2:23 pm - Filed under: Calvary News

The 2006-07 school year has hit the ground a runninn.  Right after school started, we learned we might be receiving our very first foreign exchange student.  Excitement filled the air, questions were asked and answered and books were ordered.  All were busy preparing for this new person.  We soon learned the student was a young lady from South Korea.  Her American name is Julia and her American family belongs to Trinity Lutheran.  Then within the few weeks we again received word that we were about to receive another exchange student.  Wow!  No one could explain the whirl wind of excitement that this generated.  This time we were told “it’s a boy”, a young man from Taiwan.  His American name is Billy.

Lady Lions vs Lady Bulldogs at Stover

Posted on @ 1:03 pm - Filed under: Sports

Monday, September 25th.  It was a beautiful night for a drive through the back country and trails of Central Missouri.  Our unknown, never heard of, where are they from, Lady Lions were traveling to Stover to meet the Lady Bulldogs.  This was their very first volleyball game.  As you know, the games at Trinity Lutheran in early September were scrimmages (just practice games).  The lions were pumped and ready to go.  First serve of the game was a point from our own red number 14.  You will also see her wearing white number 10.  That point was only the first of many as they won the first 2 games.  For fun, they played a third game.  Guess what!  They won it also. Congratulations to our lady lioness.
