Make Up Days!!

Wow, what a weekend!  Snow, Ice, Rain, more ice, broken tree limbs, downed power lines, more ice.  It wears me out just thinking about it.  I loaded all of our flashlights, dug out all the candles, re-fueled the kerosene lamp, filled our big water cooler, removed ice cubes from ice maker  and put in freezer, and the list goes on.  I had stopped on my way home from Calvary on Friday, and picked up food items that would not need to be cooked.  In between the waiting and stoking wood in our outside furnace, we were feeding livestock.  On Monday morning around 8:30 a.m., we were cutting tree limbs that had fallen across the driveway and MFA was coming with a load of feed.  After that we went to check on access to the other feed bin at another place, guess what, more tree limbs down but not as big as the other one.  Today, I am tired.  The worry will really get to you.  Oh, I forgot to tell you that I also fell Monday evening going after the newspaper.  I knew better than to go down the front porch steps, but I did.  The last step was a killer.  My feet went out from under me on the last step and by the time I quit bouncing, I had hit my shoulder, bruised my backside and left elbow and cracked my head on the bottom step.  It literally knocked the breath out of me.  I was sprawled out laying in my front yard and feeling ridiculous.  My first thought was, I don’t think I broke anything, better get up before I freeze to death and before the buzzards start flying over.  I went on though and got the paper and tipped toed back to the house very carefully.  Well, it is best that I tell you what I intended to tell you when I started this.  Make-up for this snow day is scheduled for March 8th.  I hope and pray to God that every one is ok and in good health.

I would also like to thank Mr. & Mrs. David Bleich for the homemade jelly and APG for their gift certificate at Christmas.  The gifts were wonderful.

2007 HAS JUST BEGUN!!!

A new (calendar) year has begun and with it comes the age old problem of writing it. The swing of the pen and the brain wave will, in all probabilty, write January, 2oo6 for 30 days. I am sure there are others with this problem, because for 365 days, minus 30 days, the brain and pen were writing the year 2006. Now here we go again, time to change. Change? It is not a change but a method we have devised which forces everyone to do something together. Would not it be wonderful if all mankind would praise the Lord and thank Him for all the wonderful things He gives us. I want to thank all parents that are sending your children to Calvary Lutheran High School and thank you for sharing them with me. I want to thank all who remember Calvary with monetary donations. God Bless All of You and may 2007 be a powerful one for you and for Calvary.
