Think Tank 09/18/07

The first Think Tank meeting was held on Tuesday, September 18.  Fourteen people attended the meeting, which was open to anyone interested in developing Calvary’s permanent location.  The tentative site consists of 30 acres, which is more than needed to house the educational facility, athletic fields, and parking.  The Think Tank meetings are being used to gain insight as to how the excess land can be used to serve the Lutheran community, as well as the community at large.

Future meetings will be published in church bulletins and on the website.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Thanks to those who took the time to attend and impart their ideas and dreams into this exciting project!

Lady Lions WIN! (9-12-07)

Posted on September 13, 2007 @ 7:04 am - Filed under: Sports

Calvary’s Lady Lions volleyball team played a great match against Helias’ Freshman squad.  Last night’s win against Helias’ freshman team was the most exciting volleyball of the season!  Helias held off the Lady Lions in the first game, 25-14.  The second and third games were controlled by the Lady Lions, 25-16 and 25-18.

Teamwork and hustle accurately describe this team.  Every player contributed to the wins, from Lauren Holland’s serving, Whitni Sommerer’s defense, Darci Gerity’s setting, Hannah Meyer’s spikes, Brianna Schulte’s net play, Michaela Cook’s relief off the bench, and Macy Propst’s passing.  Great defense kept the ball in play, while awesome serving added points to the score.

The Ladies played well and had a great time.  The fans were excited and cheered through the entire match!  The Lady Lions will be a team to watch this season.  Their schedule is posted on the website’s calendar.  Don’t miss a game!

Go Lady Lions!!!!!!
