Josh Marriott Attends National Honor Choir

Posted on November 7, 2007 @ 7:38 am - Filed under: Calvary News

You could hear the excitement in Sophomore Joshua Marriott’s voice when he stated “Attending the National Honor Choir was a great experience!”  The event was held November 2-3, 2007, at Concordia University, in Seward, Nebraska.

Joshua was one of approximately 50-60 high school student participants selected from across the United States. Friday afternoon/evening, the honor choir practiced from 2:00 to 6:00 and 7:00 to 9:00.  Following the practice, the participants were treated to an evening of entertainment, of which Josh was “in the act!”

Saturday’s performance included the National Honor Choir, which performed five vocal selections, Concordia University’s A Cappella Choir, four bands, and two soloists.  Joshua’s favorite part of this experience was the performance itself. Josh encouraged all of Calvary’s choir members to try out for next year’s Honor Choir.  He will be eligible for next year’s choir and would like more of the choir members to enjoy this exciting opportunity.

Josh was very appreciative of Mrs. Ahlers encouragement and help in preparing him for this experience.  Josh stated “I made new friends and we have promised to keep in touch.”
