On Saturday, November first, Calvary is proudly hosting a fall event, the hayride! This hayride event will take place at Denise Crider’s house. It will start at 6:30 p.m. and finish sometime after 9:30 pm. The activities consist of a hayride, games, a maze, a bonfire, and more! There will be plenty of food and drink available throughout the evening including hot dogs, s’mores, water, and soda. This will be a fun and exciting event for the entire family, so please come and join us!~ Sara McCahon


Panera Bread Fundraiser

On Wednesday, September 24th Calvary had an adopt a school night at Panera Bread. We raised $212.84 for Calvary’s Booster Club.  Calvary recieved ten percent of all sales at Panera from 5-8 pm. Thanks to all those who attended. ~ Mikaela Barnes


Drama

Calvary has been given the opportunity to provide the students with a drama class, thanks to our new teacher Mr. Deardoff. There are nine students who are participating in Drama. Those nine students will be in an upcoming play. It will take place on November 12th, at Trinity. Drama takes place every Tuesday after school. Drama is fun and people should try it out at least once. ~ Jacob Cox


Lock-In Plans For No Lock-Outs

Calvary’s first lock-in of the year will be held at the school on October 3rd.  The two people planning the lock-in are Reid Gilbert and Chase Kronk.  Some of the activities at the lock-in will be football, Guitar Hero, Rockband, as well as other secret games.  The lock-in is going to be a fun time for the students to get together and play games as well as a chance for the students to get to know each other and to grow together as a school. ~ Robbie Hollingsworth


Choir Trio Debuts

On October 5, Calvary Lutheran High School will debut its first trio. The trio consists of Drew Dusheke, Michaela Cook, and Kelsey Irwin. All of these students are part of the school’s choir and volunteered for this opportunity. The choir’s director, Melisa Ahlers, will be directing the trio. The trio is singing for Trinity Lutheran’s LLL meeting. This experience is exciting for the students taking part in this opportunity and also for the school as a whole. ~ Darci Gerity


Student Council Celebrates Reformation Day

Calvary Lutheran high school’s student council has planned a celebration for October thirty-first. Several activities have been planned for this day. Students will be able to come to school dressed in costume, and costumes will be judged. There will be a common lunch period serving hot dogs, chips, and soda. Students will receive pumpkins two to three days prior to carve for a pumpkin-carving contest. During lunch, the contest results will be revealed. Students who incorporate the Reformation theme into their costume and pumpkin design will receive extra points. ~ Cathleen Hays
