Drama Department

The Drama Department was a new addition this year at Calvary. It provided a wonderful opportunity for the students to express themselves in a way that only the stage can offer. Most of the students who participated in these events were glad to be able to release their energy and enthusiasm which had built up throughout the day. Though the drama department started as a small group of about four or five people at the beginning of the year, it became an active part of Calvary and more students joined throughout the year.
Mr. Dan Deardoff

Mr. Deardoff is the heart of the drama department. He provides the scripts, directs the productions, casts and trains the actors, provides cookies during practices, etc...all of this he does while teaching all of the English and writing classes here at Calvary. He has devoted a great amount of time and energy into this department and his devotion is an inspiration to the students involved.
Student Actors
Here at Calvary, student actors aren't only the actors but the set crew and tech crew as well. They do everything from playing a leading role to moving chairs around or opening/closing the curtains. They put a lot of time and effort into the productions and have a great time coming together and simply having a fun time.
Calvary's first and only production so far was the Gift of the Magi. As far as everyone's concerned, it was a hit! Both the actors and the audience found great enjoyment in the classic holiday play.

Chapel Drama
Throughout the year, Calvary's students have participated in several chapel skits. They used their God-given talent to spread His Message through acting during Trinity Lutheran and Imanuel chapel services. Some of these skits included relevant events in the Bible, such as the death and resurrection of Christ. These skits were performed by Jacob, Darci, Kellie, Chance, Chase, Betsy, Danny, Joe, Jessie, and Sara. It was a wonderful opportunity for these students to share their love of Christ in a fun and exciting way while at the same time, building up their talents and abilities.
