The first season of basketball begins for Calvary. Tons of people are excited and ready for the season to start. People have been asking the players how practice has been going. People are ready to support the Lions at their games.
The coach is Derek Lear. Coach Lear has been coaching for six years. He coached five years for the J-Club and one year for St. Martins. In addition, he brings the experience of having been a guard for the Jefferson City Jays in high school.
Due to the fact that that this is the first year, the current schedule of games is tentative and under development. However, the first game is at Stover on November 28. Future competitors may include Lighthouse Christian Academy, Russellville High School, Fulton Home School, Rolla Home School, and Camdenton Christian. Schedule
We have been practicing four days a week. We have been learning alot of things and having fun. We run alot, but it is worth it. We do alot of drills and plays to boost our skills and confidence. Coach Lear has been preparing us well and has been having patiences with the players on trying to do it right.
The players have been working hard in practice. Some of the players even work on their skills outside of practice. The coaches put in hardwork also. They are there every practice and work hard to try to get the players to do it the right way. It is good to work hard and do it the right way. The players have a lot of respect for the coaches.
