Lock-Ins

What a Lock-In is.

A Lock-In is like a slumber party with your fellow schoolmates, in which nobody sleeps unless you want to.

Calvary students come back to school at 9pm and stay into the early morning. All evening, students enjoy watching movies, playing various games, eating food, and just being with each other. Various teachers and parents chaperone and it is a neat opportunity to get to know them outside of school. Just ask any of the students and they will tell you that these events are Super Fun!

What happens during a lock-in?

During these fun events, everyone has a blast. The students make good memories with all of their friends. Calvary hosts the Lock-Ins so the students can have good Christian fun! Every time we have a Lock-In, the students are always making sure that they'll be able to go. The students play video games such as WII, and Xbox. They also eat many foods including chili, pizza, chips, donuts, ro-tel dip, and many other tasty snacks. We also have soda of all different kinds that the students bring. The students enjoy these events because they can get out from the house.

What do the students like about lock-ins?

At our April lock-in Calvary had its first bounce house ever. This was a great idea spawned by the activity coordinators Sara and Kellie and enthusiastically enjoyed by everyone present. The bounce house was filled to capacity throughout the entire evening as students enjoyed acrobatics, wrestling, and crazy jumping. This great memory and the awesome pictures of what happened will have the whole school talking about it for a long time to come. While the students waited to get into the bounce house they enjoyed games like twister, and football.

How much does it take to plan a lock-in?

There a lot of planning put into these events. Having these events takes awhile to plan and there has to be a sign up sheet made so plans can be made accordingly. Throughout the week before the lock-in, there are always people reminding you to come and enjoy yourself. We always plan on people bringing stuff that can be used to have fun and be enjoyed by everyone. Sara and Kellie, who are students here, planned one of them. They had a bounce house, lots of food, and games that were a blast to play with your friends.
