THE ARTS AT CALVARY LUTHERAN
Calvary values the Fine Arts and seeks to embrace all students who desire to be involved. Research shows that students involved in Fine Arts gain support in reading and math. More importantly, the Fine Arts are a means for students to grow and share their faith in God. The Fine Arts also promotes creativity, critical thinking and perseverance. These skills will not only serve them well in high school but also in college, a career, and in their communities, families and with their friends.
At Calvary students are given opportunities to explore the Fine Arts in ways they may not have endeavored before. We meet students where they are at and help them develop their skills whether they would like to study music, theater, or visual art as a career or if they would just like to try something new. There will be a place for every student to venture into the Fine Arts and be a part of something great.
In His service,
Calvary Lutheran High School provides many opportunities for students who have been blessed with musical talents. Through choir and band, students work to develop their God-given abilities and perform in a variety of settings. Choir and Theater Arts students travel to local Lutheran grade schools to lead Chapel, and Select Concert Choir visits many places in our community throughout the year and enhances their gatherings. Twice a year, all music groups come together to present a Christmas concert and Spring concert. Featuring solos and ensemble performances from a variety of genres.
The Calvary Lutheran High School Drama Department performs a variety of drama productions each year and gives students the opportunity to be involved in acting, producing, and directing aspects. This co-curricular activity is open to students with various levels of experience and gives each of them the opportunity to grow through their experiences.
Past productions by the CLHS Drama Department have included: Superhero Sanitarium, These Shining Lives, and Anne of Avonlea.
