“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”
Romans 12:9-10

Accredited through National Lutheran Schools Accreditation and the Missouri Non-Public School Accreditation Association, the rigorous program of study at Calvary Lutheran High School is designed to provide each student with a quality education in English, math, science, social studies, global studies, and theology. The curriculum also includes a variety of electives to further enhance each student’s learning and to allow students to pursue their individual interests.  In a one-to-one, Christ-centered environment, CLHS teachers challenge students to think critically, work collaboratively, persevere and realize their God-given potential.

The academic program at CLHS also includes a variety of opportunities for students to challenge themselves even further and experience a variety of learning environments:

  • Dual credit courses
  • Online courses
  • Independent study courses with a faculty member

Student services is an integral part of the educational program at Calvary Lutheran High School. Our counseling professionals nurture students in their spiritual, academic, emotional and vocational development. Counselors use a proactive, developmental approach to assist students in making wise decisions personally, academically and vocationally.

Our academic and college guidance is deliberately focused on planning for continuing education in a college, university, or career path best suited to the student’s strengths and goals. The guidance counselors also provide assistance in exploring college and career choices, submitting college applications, and pursuing scholarship options.

Discussion with a counselor or teacher will help students solve many problems they encounter during their high school years. Students and parents should feel free to consult the counselors or teachers at any time. Students also have access to personal counseling based on their strengths, needs and situations. Students requiring long-term counseling may be referred to an outside agency.

We give personalized attention to our students and parents in these areas:

  • Academic planning and counseling
  • Career planning assistance
  • Personal counseling and referrals
  • College selection and application assistance
  • Scholarship assistance
  • Scheduling visits with college representatives
  • Testing (PSAT, ACT, AP tests, placement tests)
  • Dual credit programs
  • Test interpretation for parents and students
  • Crisis intervention
  • Conflict resolution/mediation
  • Student schedules

Calvary Lutheran High School offers dual credit classes in math, English, science, and history. The goal is to give students an idea of pace and expectations of a college level class. Calvary Lutheran’s dual credit course list includes:

  • Composition (3 hours)
  • Literature (3 hours)
  • American History (3 hours)
  • Biology (3 hours)
  • College Algebra (3 hours)
