“For I know that plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

Welcome to the Calvary Family!

What does it mean to “Be a Lion” you ask?  It means being a part of our Calvary family.   Our passion and enthusiasm is about our students.  Building Christian Leaders through faith development, academic excellence and personal growth is our mission for each and every student that walks through our doors.  Students, faculty and staff members all play a vital role in our one-on-one culture, students’ success and our Christ-centered values.  We view our families as partners in the educational process because what we do here is more than a high school education, it is life preparation.

Being a Lion means that you value the Christ-centered, service-oriented and innovative academic excellence Calvary provides in preparation for your future.  We would like to invite you to campus for a tour or Shadow Day to learn more and experience a day in the life of a CLHS Lion!

For additional information, please call or email me.  I look forward to meeting you and your family and discussing your opportunities to “Be a Lion!”

In Christ,

Do you have to be Christian to attend?2018-07-12T14:33:10-05:00

No. Calvary Lutheran High School is open to all applicants. Yet, CLHS is a school which is faith-based and approaches all aspects of its operation from a Christian worldview.

Why are you called Lutheran? Do you have to be Lutheran to attend?2018-07-12T14:34:00-05:00

Calvary Lutheran High School is governed by the Lutheran High School Association of Mid-Missouri, which is comprised of a group of local Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregations and whose representatives and delegates serve on this governing body.  While we teach from an LCMS perspective, Calvary Lutheran is open to all applicants. Students and families of all faiths are welcome and invited to be a part of our family.

Does Calvary Lutheran High School offer financial assistance or aid?2018-07-12T14:36:42-05:00

Our philosophy includes the concept that no family sincerely desiring a Christ-centered education for their
child(ren) should be denied this opportunity simply because of their family situation. Accordingly, we have
developed a tuition grant program whereby families with demonstrated financial need may apply and receive a
grant to cover the difference between the tuition and the amount they could reasonably be expected to pay.

Is Calvary Lutheran High School accredited?2018-07-12T14:38:55-05:00

Calvary is unconditionally accredited by National Lutheran Schools Accrediting Association (NLSA) and Missouri Non-Public School Accreditation. NLSA accreditation meets or exceeds requirements of Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

    Is there a dress code?2018-07-12T14:41:06-05:00

Yes. Calvary Lutheran High School’s student dress code is best described as “business casual”. Students’ attire affects their productivity and their approach to academic endeavors. The complete dress code is available within the student handbook which can be found HERE (Need Link – resources page?). Students are not required to wear uniforms.

How accessible is the teaching staff to students and parents?2018-07-12T14:42:38-05:00

Calvary Lutheran High School’s faculty is one of its best assets. Teachers are available for students before and after school. They work very hard to make sure their students succeed. Communication between teachers and parents is highly encouraged. Working together with parents enables the teachers to meet student’s needs.

What is the average class size?2018-07-12T14:44:15-05:00

The student to teacher ratio at Calvary Lutheran is, on average, 16:1. Class size depends largely on the level of the class, as higher level courses tend to have fewer students, while introductory classes have more.

How much does it cost to attend Calvary Lutheran High School?2019-02-04T19:42:42-06:00

The 2019-2020 tuition rate for students from the association congregations is $6,325. The tuition rate for community students is $7,025 during the 2019-2020 school year. The association congregational financial commitments assist in offsetting their congregational student’s tuition cost resulting in the differing tuition rates.
